This quilt was about 8 years in the making.
In the beginning this was a charity project for our Tuesday morning group. They started out as 12" string blocks that were made from our scraps. We made about 6 of the tops and had a few blocks left over. I took them home and made a few more blocks and finished another 2 tops. I decided I would like to make myself a quilt. Well you know the story .... I needed one more row of blocks to complete a full size quilt and BAM - hit that "I'm bored with this" wall and so off the UFO world it sailed!
Fast forward to December 2013. An episode of Fons & Porter reminded me of the string top almost done! Theirs was called Campfires or something like that. I pulled it out and started cutting it up. I cut all the blocks down to only 10 inches. I then quartered those into 5 inch squares and added the sticks! I then made the other blocks I needed and finished it up. Quilted it in a couple of days and yippee a finished quilt!

I can mark one project off my list but then I have to add another. At our guild meeting on Saturday I won the BOM Lottery. I won 9 12" blocks! Not enough for a quilt and I don't want to make more blocks, so I think I will make a table topper!
It is time to put another top on the frame. I am not sure if I want to put on an older project or a freshly finished top. I'll have to think about it. I have a few more days until my new leaders get here.
